Dashcams are slowly becoming a necessity on Indian roads, where accidents, sudden braking, and traffic disputes are part of everyday driving. In many situations, the biggest problem is not the incident itself but the lack of clear proof of what actually happened. To address this gap, boAt has entered the dashcam category with the launch of its new Hive Dashcam series.
This marks boAt’s first move beyond audio and wearables into in-car safety devices. The Hive Dashcam lineup includes three models, the F1, M1, and E1. Together, they are meant to cover a wide range of users, from first-time dashcam buyers and daily commuters to drivers who want more detailed recording for safety and insurance purposes.
Price and availability
The boAt Hive Dashcam series is now available across online platforms and offline stores in India. Buyers can find the dashcams on the boAt website, as well as Amazon, Flipkart, and select retail outlets.
The Hive Dashcam F1 is priced at Rs. 9,990. The Hive Dashcam M1 is available for Rs. 4,499, while the more affordable Hive Dashcam E1 is priced at Rs. 2,499. These prices apply as part of the launch period.
Specs and features
All three dashcams in the Hive series use Sony STARVIS sensors, which are designed to capture clearer footage in low light and challenging lighting conditions. This helps in recording number plates and road details both at night and during harsh daylight.
The Hive Dashcam F1 is the top-end model. It offers dual camera recording, with 4K video from the front camera and 1080p video from the rear. It also includes features like GPS tracking, voice control, Wi-Fi app support, and driver alerts for lane departure and possible forward collisions.
The Hive Dashcam M1 sits in the middle of the lineup. It records in 2K resolution using a wide-angle lens that covers a large part of the road. It includes GPS for route and speed tracking, a G-sensor that detects collisions, and support for microSD cards up to 512GB.
The Hive Dashcam E1 is aimed at everyday city driving. It records in 1296p resolution and supports loop recording, which automatically overwrites older footage. It also includes emergency recording triggers and app connectivity through built-in Wi-Fi. Its compact size is designed to fit easily in smaller cars without blocking the driver’s view.
Across the lineup, the focus is on continuous recording, emergency footage protection, and easy access to clips through a smartphone, helping drivers document incidents when they matter most.
