Cupertino-based tech giant Apple launched its first-generation Augmented reality (AR) headset, the Vision Pro, last year. However, the tech giant failed to bring down the cost of production and components, which were transferred over to the end user in the form of a hefty price tag for this headset. Recently, developments suggest that Apple is reportedly planning to launch the second-generation Vision Pro headset before spring 2026.
Apple’s second-generation Vision Pro headset to launch in 2026
According to a new report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the successor to Apple’s augmented-reality headset will likely be released between the fall of 2025 and the spring of 2026. This aligns with the report from last week, where Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that the company had significantly delayed its plans for a more affordable Vision headset and would now focus on releasing the second-generation Apple Vision Pro next year.
Further, the Vision Pro 2 is expected to build upon the unique features of its predecessor, offering enhanced performance and a more immersive user experience. Gurman notes that the device is expected to be powered by the M5 chipset, which could launch next year, ensuring seamless multitasking.
The report also mentions that the Apple Vision Pro 2 could closely resemble the original model's sleek and high-end look. We can further expect Apple to lower the price of the upcoming device for wider adoption and boost sales figures.
