Champions Trophy 2025: The Indian cricket team is yet to receive an official update on the fitness of Jasprit Bumrah for the upcoming Champions Trophy. Captain Rohit Sharma has informed that the pacer is not ruled out of the ICC event. Bumrah, however will miss the upcoming 3-match ODI series against England. The pace sensation suffered from a back injury during the Sydney Test against Australia and since then has been trying to recover from it. He also missed the T20I series against England at home and was not named in the ODI series at home against Jos Buttler's men.
Last month, chief selector Ajit Agarkar's said that Bumrah could return in the ODIs against England but BCCI named spinner Varun Chakaravarthy and had no mention of the fast bowler.
"Varun has clearly got something different about him, and we want to see what we can do. I understand it's a different format. Right now we are not thinking about the CT, but if he does well, then there is something to think about," Rohit Sharma said ahead of the 3-match ODI series vs England.
Ahead of the first ODI against England, Rohit Sharma said the team is hoping that Bumrah returns for the Champions Trophy but he could only give media the clarity about his fitness once the team management gets an update on his fitness.

"We are waiting for some updates on his scan, which are due to happen over the next few days. Once we get that scan report, we will have more clarity in terms of where he stands right now, and if he will be available for the last ODI," Rohit said on Wednesday.
