A rare cosmic sight lit up the Parisian sky. Venus and the crescent moon aligned beautifully above the Eiffel Tower. The bright duo captured attention, even under city lights.

A Spectacular Sight Over Paris
French astrophotographer Gwenaël Blanck captured the moment on 1 February. The image, taken near the Seine River, shows Venus and the moon glowing together. A blue light from the Eiffel Tower adds to the striking scene. Saturn also appears faintly, though harder to see.

Blanck shared the photo on Instagram, noting the rare event. "Many tourists stopped to admire the sight," he wrote. The light pollution made Saturn difficult to spot, but Venus and the moon stood out.

A Rare Planetary Parade
This celestial event is part of a larger planetary alignment. Over the next few weeks, five planets will be visible. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn can be seen with the naked eye. Uranus and Neptune are present but require a telescope.

The alignment will peak in late February and early March. During this period, all seven planets will appear in a near-straight line. Venus will shine the brightest, making it easiest to locate.

Stargazers can use binoculars or a telescope for a clearer view. A similar planetary lineup will not happen again until October 2028.
