Vivek Ramaswamy, 39, is a multimillionaire former biotech executive, who will lead the newly-established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), alongwith Tesla chief Elon Musk.
Born in the US to Indian immigrant parents, Ramaswamy rose to political prominence in 2023 when he declared his candidacy for the Republican Party nomination.

Ramaswamy’s primary source of wealth is Roivant Sciences, a biotech company he founded in 2014.
Acquiring and developing overlooked pharmaceuticals, which are then moved toward commercialization is his business strategy. In 2016, Ramaswamy was instrumental in launching Myovant Sciences, a Roivant subsidiary, in what was the largest biotech initial public offering (IPO) of that year, raising $218 million through a Nasdaq listing.
An important moment in Ramaswamy’s wealth journey came in 2020 when Japanese company Sumitomo Dainippon purchased a portfolio of five Roivant drugs and a 10 percent company stake for $3 billion, as per reports.
Reportedly, this sale provided Ramaswamy with an estimated $176 million in capital gains, significantly expanding his financial standing.

Apart from his pharma company, Ramaswamy has a diversified portfolio across various investments. He allocated his earnings into stocks and bonds, alongside investments in emerging tech like cryptocurrency.
He has invested in cryptos like Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Ramaswamy also holds stakes in YouTube competitor Rumble and the crypto payments firm MoonPay, Forbes stated.
Personal assetsRamaswamy owns two homes in Ohio collectively valued at $2.5 million, as per reports.
He also owns stakes in private jets for efficient travel, but emphasizes that his use of private aviation is primarily to “buy time with family.”
