A video of a man wearing the signature red Zomato uniform and food bag while riding a horse has gone viral online. Filmed in Hyderabad, the video shows the man – purportedly a Zomato delivery agent – riding horseback with expert ease.

He drew amused stares as he trotted down a busy road, the Zomato bag strapped to his shoulder. He also appeared to be carrying a packet of food.

The video was shared on the social media platform X by a user who said the Zomato agent decided to ride horseback after petrol pumps in Hyderabad witnessed long queues fuelled by fears of a petrol shortage.

The X user, who goes by ‘Arbaaz the great’, posted: “Due To Closure of #PetrolPumps in Hyderabad, A Zomato Delivery boy came out to deliver food on horse at #Chanchalgudaa near to imperial hotel [sic].”

Fuel supply was affected at petrol pumps in various parts of the country due to the strike by truckers against the new law on hit-and-run cases. Long queues were witnessed at petrol pumps in Hyderabad and other cities like Lucknow and Mumbai.

However, it is not certain whether the man in the Hyderabad video is actually a Zomato delivery executive or a copy-cat looking to grab eyeballs.

Last year, a similar video of a Swiggy ‘delivery executive’ riding horseback had gone massively viral online. It was later revealed that the man was not associated with Swiggy in any way and had only borrowed the food delivery platform’s orange uniform.
