India’s growing space sector marked a confident moment as Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened Skyroot Aerospace’s new Infinity Campus. The event offered a personal reminder of how national ambition keeps shaping the country’s future in space.

Why did the Prime Minister highlight India’s space progress?

Modi inaugurated the facility through video conferencing on Thursday. He said India built its identity through consistent credibility. He added the nation strengthened its value through strong capacity. He stressed that space technology now reflects national determination clearly. His remarks placed the new facility within a wider national vision. The launch showed how private players now support national missions strongly.

What is special about the new Infinity Campus?

The newly constructed site spans nearly 200,000 square feet total. It supports designing, developing and testing several launch vehicles. The campus can produce one orbital rocket each month. The facility brings advanced systems into a single unified space. Engineers can integrate complex hardware with improved precision and speed. Skyroot says the setup strengthens India’s private launch capability today.

How did Skyroot Aerospace emerge in India’s space sector?

The company was founded by IIT alumni and former ISRO staff. Pawan Chandana and Bharath Daka shaped the company’s direction early. Skyroot soon became a major private player in India. It created history by launching Vikram-S in November 2022. That flight marked India’s first privately developed suborbital rocket. The launch showed strong potential for future private missions.

What defines the new Skyroot Aerospace Vikram-I rocket?

Vikram-I is named after Vikram Sarabhai respectfully. The vehicle is Skyroot’s first rocket designed for orbital missions. It can place around 300 kilograms into low Earth orbit. The rocket uses a light all-carbon-fibre body for efficiency. It can deploy several satellites in a single planned mission. The vehicle also uses 3D-printed liquid engines for performance.
