Zerodha CEO Nithin Kamath recently shared his confusion with the various features that Instagram offers and, in a candid post on X, even wondered if he was too old to figure out the platform or if it was too complex to use. Screenshots of a conversation with his team highlighting his difficulty understanding how Instagram functions is viral.
“Trying to learn how to use Instagram. I don’t know if I am too old or this is just too complex to use,” he wrote on X as his team tried to explain to him how stories, posts, carousels, and communities work on Instagram.

"Stories, reels, posts – seriously?" the 45-year-old asked his team and after they attempted to break it down to him, Kamath replied: "How is everyone not totally confused?"
His hilarious struggle left many X users amused. Some even offered help.
"You are too modest," wrote X user Shivnath Thukral (@shivithukral). "For someone who built India’s most successful platform which the young folks use for investments, this should be a cakewalk! Happy to run a session with our teams!"
Another user Rajsingh Nivruttirao Nimbalkar (@rattler_uno) commented, "A bit of both. After having reasonable expertise on IG since 2013; somewhere last year I just quit. It’s become primarily - advertising platform, influencer marketing, and brand publications. Very little genuine content and connection. X is much better. Seedhi baat, no bakwaas!"
Currently, Instagram offers three content sharing options: stories, reels, and posts.
Posts are the classic Instagram content format, which are pictures or short videos that show up on the profile grid. Stories are pictures and short clips that stay on the platform for 24 hours.
Reels are videos of longer lengths and are considered the best option for storytellers.
