A woman was trolled on LinkedIn after slamming Mamaearth’s co-founder Ghazal Alagh for glorifying working during pregnancy. Prakriti Sharma, an AI engineer at Tata Consultancy Services, criticised Alagh for prioritising a photoshoot over her child’s well-being. However, the tables turned when she received backlash for her comments instead.
Sharma took to LinkedIn to share a picture of Alagh and also reshared a post in which the co-founder talked about shooting 12 hours a day in her 8th month of pregnancy. “I find it absolute nonsense that a pregnant lady would prioritise a shoot for the external world to see, over her own child's well-being,” Sharma wrote.
She also slammed Alagh for “seeking validation” from the internet during her pregnancy. “Posting about being stupid and harsh on herself during pregnancy and seeking validation for the same from the internet makes it even awful to watch. Ladies please be mindful about who you look up to and do not follow any b******t advise served on the internet,” she wrote further.

Sharma’s post went viral online and also garnered a lot of attention from LinkedIn users. However, a majority of people disagreed with her point of view and trolled her instead. Some people termed her outburst as "shallow" and "insensitive".
“Prakriti, I think your take on Ghazal Alagh's decision/choice is not only unkind, but it reveals a shallow understanding of ambition, work ethic, and the reality of pregnancy. Pregnancy is unique to each woman; judging someone else's experience is presumptuous. Women are capable of incredible things during pregnancy. Dismissing those achievements as 'stupid' and harmful is insulting and regressive,” one user wrote.
Another user commented, “People being non-judgemental while minding their own businesses is such an underrated quality!”
“It is sad to see a woman bringing down another woman (very much playing into the stereotype!). We are fighting enough battles already! Let us learn to respect people's choices instead of judging them,” a third user remarked.
A fourth user added, “I don’t mean to intervene here but ‘Everyone is replaceable’. When a woman goes through pregnancy, she has to keep the show going (her work). I have seen live examples of which I can’t even talk about it. Hence, never pass a judgment on others unless you've walked a mile in their shoes.”
