After Sarvam AI’s standout showing at the India AI Impact Summit in Delhi, employee Harveen Singh Chadha shared that his parents, once upset about him quitting Microsoft, have now changed their view.
Chadha's post
Harveen Singh Chadha, who works as an LLM Researcher at Sarvam, said he had a major shift in perspective since he quit Microsoft in April 2025 to join the startup.
Sharing a post on X, the Sarvam employee wrote, “10 months back, parents were not happy when I left MS. Today, when I reached, they were smiling.”
He said his parents are proudly saving articles about Sarvam and circulating them on WhatsApp.
“Dad showed me all the news channel recordings, newspaper mentions of Sarvam. Mom told me how she promoted Sarvam in WhatsApp groups and to neighbours,” said Chadha. “Overall, a very small win but a long way to go.”

What is Sarvam AI?
Sarvam AI is a Bengaluru-based artificial intelligence start-up founded in 2023 that develops large language models (LLMs) and multimodal AI systems.
At the summit, Sarvam unveiled an AI model developed from scratch, specially for Indian audiences. The voice-first platform supports nearly 24 Indian languages, which the company considers crucial in a country of 1.45 billion people where many are not comfortable reading or typing in English.
