A recent job advertisement has ignited outrage among Reddit users for its stance on work-life balance. The ad drew attention not for its typical job requirements, but for a stark warning: candidates prioritizing work-life balance need not apply.

"If your goal in life is to have a work/life balance, then please don't apply. That is usually someone looking for reasons not to work. We are not a company that wants to work all the time but we understand that it is a required part of life, so work is life as well. They are not exclusive. There used to be a saying, “Work Hard, Play Hard”. We agree with that. Most people want to play hard and work as little as possible and that is what we don’t agree with. Enjoying the fruits of your labor is an amazing thing," the advertisement stated unequivocally.

Then, the ad goes on to list the other roles and responsibilities of the employee; the job listing is for a book keeper or office manager. The pay range is $50,000 to $95,000 a year.

A Reddit user shared a screenshot of the ad, which went viral, with the caption: "Work/life balance? Never heard of her. Honestly, I kinda want to apply just to see how insane the interview would be.”

This unapologetic declaration of the unnamed company has sparked a flurry of reactions across Reddit, with users expressing a mix of disbelief, sarcasm, and concern.

One user sarcastically applauded the company for its upfront disclosure, stating, "It's good of them to put that enormous red flag right out front. Saved a lot of time and effort when you know the scam upfront."

Others expressed more serious reservations, with one user questioning the ethos behind the company's approach, remarking, "You're here to live for work, not work to live. If you're not giving your soul to this job, then who will pay for the owner's new house in Miami?"

A third said: “All that attitude, very low pay grade.”

A fourth wrote: “As if I would have enough energy to play hard after a day of work.”

The name of the company was redacted to protect people from harassment. It’s a standard procedure on Reddit to obscure the names/usernames of people to discourage personal attacks against them.
