OnePlus has finally unveiled the much anticipated OnePlus 7 Series in India which starts at Rs 32,999 in India. While the OnePlus 7 is still priced in the higher mid-range smartphone category, the company’s first Pro device would cost buyers a whopping Rs 48,999. With this pricing, OnePlus is certainly not a ‘Flagship Killer’ brand and now competes with the big league manufacturers like Apple, Samsung, and Google.

It comes with a massive screen that is curved and edge-to-edge, a powerful performance unit with the latest top of the line processor, triple rear camera setup and a huge battery. If we look at the specs, in terms of processors and RAM, the OnePlus 7 Pro, Galaxy S10 Plus provide the latest SoC with up to 12GB. Although S10 Plus offers 1TB onboard storage, the OnePlus 7 Pro has a slight edge here due to UFS 3.0 storage which has led to faster read-write speeds.
The iPhone XS Max on paper offers only 4GB RAM but has better Geekbench scores courtesy of its customised OS with respect to the hardware onboard. However, it comes with a hefty price tag of Rs 1,09,900, more than double of the OnePlus 7 Pro.
The Pixel 3XL comparatively is the most inferior in terms of specs. It comes with just 4GB RAM and offers 128GB storage that is paired with last year’s Snapdragon 845 SoC. For the price, the Pixel 3 XL may not be the best value for money device. If you are looking for the best camera on a smartphone, try the Pixel 3a XL which shares the same camera as the Pixel 3 XL for half the price.
OnePlus 7 Pro has received the best rating of A+ by DisplayMate. It comes with a ‘Fluid AMOLED’ screen with no notch and has HDR10+ support. The company is also betting big on the triple camera unit calling it the best ever on a OnePlus. It may not be a ‘Flagship Killer’ due to its cost, but certainly offers killer specs onboard. But how does the OnePlus 7 Pro perform in day-to-day life? Watch this space for our complete review.
