Taylor Swift is now a billionaire, with her current net-worth at $1.1 billion, according to a Bloomberg News analysis that was published on Thursday. The American singer-songwriter built a billion-dollar empire in her career spanning nearly two decades. A big chunk of her fortune was contributed by her record-breaking Eras tour that helped boost the US economy this year.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Swift is one of the few entertainers to reach the status based only on her music and performance. According to Insider, the 146-date massive tour added $4.3 billion to US’ gross domestic product. In July, the 33-year-old’s net worth was at above $740 million, with her real estate profile worth over $80 million alone.
According to Bloomberg, Swift’s wealth primarily comprises of her expensive discography, five homes, and earnings from streaming deals, music sales, concert tickets, and merchandise.
Her YouTube earnings account for $120 million alone with her five homes valued at $110 million.
While talking about the “Love Story” singer’s US tour, Chris Leyden, director of growth marketing at SeatGeek, previously told CNN that “Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour is rewriting the playbook of entertainment economics.”
“She’s not just a performer — she’s an economic phenomenon,”
The news came on the eve of the release of her album called “1989 Taylor’s Version”. Meanwhile, the Eras tour will end in November 2024.
