Indian comedian and digital creator Tanmay Bhat has generated significant discussion online after sharing a job application form seeking a content producer for his second YouTube channel. The recruitment post, published on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday stood out for its unconventional and highly personal set of questions.
Announcing the opportunity, Bhat wrote: “Hello, looking for a content producer for my second channel. Somebody into business, start ups, health, finance, pop culture (basically my twitter timeline) so thought I’d put it out here on Twitter itself. Here’s a form to apply: Thank you!”
Hello, looking for a content producer for my second channel. Somebody into business, start ups, health, finance, pop culture (basically my twitter timeline) so thought I'd put it out here on Twitter itself. Here's a form to apply: Thank you! https://t.co/DIBFTNvY6V— Tanmay Bhat (@thetanmay) February 24, 2026
Applicants who followed the link were met with a questionnaire that diverges markedly from traditional job application formats. Rather than focusing solely on academic qualifications and professional credentials, the form incorporates philosophical, cultural and opinion-based prompts.
Among the questions included were: “Tell me 2 of what you think are your most controversial opinions,” and, “What is the meaning of life?”
Other prompts asked candidates:
“Do you have a favourite entrepreneur – who and why?”
“Favourite subreddit?”
“Tell me 3 tweets recently that caught your attention.”
“Tell me an insight about money that you find fascinating.”
“What do you feel about AI? Do you use it in your daily life? If yes, then how? If no, then why not?”
The form also sought applicants’ views on Bryan Johnson, the technology entrepreneur known for his high-profile, multi-million-dollar, data-focused efforts aimed at slowing or reversing ageing.
Despite the emphasis on reflective and culturally aware responses, the application also retained standard employment queries, including name, age, current role, location, salary expectations and examples of previous work.
Social media users responded swiftly, with many expressing admiration for the originality of the approach. Some suggested that the nature of the questions would make it difficult for candidates to rely on artificial intelligence tools to draft responses.
One user remarked, “Probably Tougher than IIT Bombay hedge fund quant selection process.”
Another wrote, “No MBA will prepare you for this interview. No MBA will match the opportunity this role provides.”
A further comment read, “What an insanely cool hiring form! 1 technical question and 20 life questions.”
One X user stated: “Hey Tanmay, I am not into podcast production, but I saw the form, and it’s something different and unique. I liked it. Most people fill these job forms using AI. You’ve mentioned questions here that AI can’t answer. I’ll just fill it up, just because the questions are fun.”
Another social media user observed: “No degree can help you with this. It's crazy creative.”
Several individuals commented that they had completed the form despite not expecting to secure the role, describing it as an engaging intellectual exercise. Others used the comments section to outline their credentials and interest in the position.
