A Gurgaon man has grabbed the attention of social media after revealing his monthly expenses, which exceed Rs 2.44 lakh. The 31-year-old corporate professional, Gagan Saini, shared a detailed breakdown of his spending, leaving viewers both surprised and amused, with many joking that his single-month expenses are more than their annual salaries.

In the clip, titled ‘Monthly spends of corporate gym rat living in Gurgaon’, Saini outlines his spending on rent, groceries, gym, subscriptions, investments and other monthly costs, offering a rare glimpse into the lifestyle and financial choices of a young professional living in one of India’s most expensive cities.

Saini shared that he lives in a 2.5-bedroom flat in Gurugram and pays Rs 53,500 in rent. He explained his choice of flat, saying, “Although the rent was not cheap, my priorities had shifted post-marriage and comfort, location and safety came first.”

In addition to rent, he spends Rs 8,450 on household help, including a cook, maid and car cleaning. Internet and OTT subscriptions cost him Rs 1,728, while petrol adds another Rs 6,000 to his monthly expenditure.

A regular at the gym, Saini spends Rs 8,682 on membership and supplements. His grocery bill is Rs 15,927, as he prefers cooking most of his meals at home. This reduces his dining-out expenses, which stand at Rs 3,161 for the month.

Most of Saini’s furniture is rented, costing Rs 18,926 per month, and he spent Rs 4,848 on home décor to make the space comfortable. He wrote, “Home setup is still in progress so rented fridge and washing machine for now, but yes, got the recliner. Small home and kitchen touches to make the space feel like ours.”

As a content creator, Saini also spent Rs 4,022 on equipment and professional software subscriptions. He invested Rs 1,20,000 in long-term savings. In total, his monthly expenses for January amounted to Rs 2,44,244.

The video quickly drew attention online, with many users shocked by the high rent. One user said, “Seeing your rent made my heart sink. I feel lucky that I don’t have to pay any rent ..Rest everything is good.” Another commented, “What is that rent mannnn,” while a third added, “My god, seeing your rent, I am literally scared.”

Some viewers found the other expenses reasonable. One wrote, “Apart from rent, everything else is pretty reasonable, good to know, you are spending a good amount on your diet and stay, personally I believe that the reason we earn is to have a better lifestyle, right, and if we are compromising on where we are staying and what we are eating, then what to earn.”

Many were also curious about Saini’s income. One said , “I am calculating your salary in my mind now!” Another added with humour, “Bro called us gareeb (poor) in a well mannered way.”
