Xiaomi has launched a new model of its popular Redmi Note series in India. The Redmi Note 7S is the third new smartphone under Redmi Note 7 series launched this year. The biggest highlight of the Redmi Note 7S is a dual camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor. The company has launched the Note 7S in India starting at Rs 10,999.

As speculated, the Redmi Note 7S is the same model as the Chinese version of the Redmi Note 7. It comes with a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with a water-drop notch on top. The display has a resolution of 1080 * 2340 pixels and comes with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The Note 7S shares the same design as its counterparts and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 at the back. It has a rear-fingerprint scanner and also comes with p2i nano-coating for splash resistance.

Under the hood is a 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 3GB/ 4GB RAM and 32GB/ 64GB internal storage. In terms of power backup, the Note 7S gets a 4,000 mAh battery with support for QuickCharge 4.0 through USB Type-C port. However, out of the box, the Redmi Note 7S would come with a QuickCharge 2.0 charger.

The budget smartphone gets a dual camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 clubbed with a 5MP secondary lens. The Note 7S would use "super pixel" technology to combine four pixels into one while capturing photos. The ‘Dot Notch’ at the front houses a 13MP front camera for selfies.

The Redmi Note 7S has been priced between the Note 7 and Note 7 Pro. Its base variant with 3GB + 32GB storage starts at Rs 10,999 whereas the higher 4GB + 64GB variant is priced at Rs 12,999. The smartphone goes on sale starting May 23 on Mi India’s official website, Mi Home stores, and Flipkart.
