AAP MP Raghav Chadha has welcomed the Centre’s decision to direct quick-commerce platforms to stop advertising 10-minute delivery promises, calling it a major win for gig workers across the country. Chadha, who has consistently raised concerns over the safety and rights of delivery partners, said the move would ease dangerous work pressures faced by riders on Indian roads.
Satyamev Jayate. Together, we have won..I am deeply grateful to the Central Government for its timely, decisive and compassionate intervention in enforcing the removal of the “10-minute delivery” branding from quick-commerce platforms. This is a much needed step because when… — Raghav Chadha (@raghav_chadha) January 13, 2026
Reacting on X, Chadha described the decision as a collective victory and thanked the Central government for stepping in. He said the “10-minute delivery” messaging placed unrealistic and constant pressure on delivery partners, especially when the promise was displayed on riders’ uniforms, delivery bags and through countdown timers on customer apps. According to him, such branding directly compromises the safety of riders and other road users.
Highlighting his interactions with gig workers, Chadha said he had spoken to hundreds of delivery partners over the past few months and found many of them to be overworked, underpaid and forced to risk their lives to meet aggressive delivery timelines. He also expressed gratitude to citizens who supported the campaign, saying they stood up for human dignity, safety and the value of life. Addressing gig workers directly, he assured them they were not alone and that their concerns were being heard.
Earlier, the AAP leader had also taken a hands-on approach to understand the issue, briefly working as a Blinkit delivery partner and delivering orders alongside riders to experience the pressures of the job firsthand.
Meanwhile, the Centre has reportedly held discussions with major quick-commerce and food delivery platforms, including Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy and Zomato, to address concerns related to delivery timelines and rider safety. The meetings focused on balancing consumer convenience with fair and safe working conditions for gig workers.
Following the directive, Blinkit has already removed the 10-minute delivery claim from its branding, sources told ANI, adding that other platforms are expected to make similar changes in the coming days.
