‘Meet Dhoni, ride Lamborghini’: Doctor seeks internet's help to fulfill young cancer patient's last wish

A heartfelt appeal by a senior doctor to fulfil a young cancer patient’s final wishes has gone viral on social media, triggering a wave of support and hope online. The child, who is battling an incurable form of cancer, has just two simple dreams which are to meet cricketing icon Mahendra Singh Dhoni and to experience a ride in a Lamborghini.

The request was shared on X by Dr Paramesh CS, Director of Tata Memorial Hospital, who praised his pediatric oncology team for helping make one of thosewishes come true. In his post, he revealed that while the luxury car ride had been arranged, the child’s biggest wish, meeting MS Dhoni, was still pending. He appealed to social media users to help connect him with the former India captain, adding that even a brief virtual interaction would mean the world to the young patient.

The post quickly gained traction, with thousands of users amplifying the message and tagging Dhoni in the hope it would reach him. Many expressed confidence that the cricketer, known for his humility and kindness, would respond. One user wrote that reaching Dhoni might be tougher than buying a Lamborghini, but said they were certain he would make time for the child.

Others suggested expanding the appeal to Instagram and tagging Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi Singh Dhoni, to increase visibility. Some users also reached out to Dhoni’s former teammate Suresh Raina, urging him to help facilitate the meeting.

Amid the overwhelming response, Dr Paramesh said he was deeply moved by the compassion shown online. Regardless of the outcome, he noted, the outpouring of love and collective effort to bring joy to the child was a powerful reminder that kindness transcends everything.
