A video capturing Kanpur Mayor Pramila Pandey throwing a file at an officer during a municipal meeting has gone viral on social media. The incident occurred during a discussion about drain cleaning efforts in Kanpur. According to ANI, Pandey lost her temper when the officer attempted to mislead her regarding the status of the cleaning projects.
In the video shared by ANI on X, Pandey can be seen continuing to scold the officer after hurling the file. The Times of India (TOI) reported that the altercation arose when a zonal engineer from zone-3 claimed that drain cleaning had commenced in March. However, Pandey refuted this, stating that the cleaning started in May, accusing the engineer of presenting false information. "When nullah cleaning started in May, how can the zonal engineer claim it began in March?" sources quoted her saying.

Following this incident, Pandey directed the chief engineer of the Kanpur Municipal Corporation to ensure that she inspects the drain cleaning work across all zones starting June 14. The meeting, held at the Kanpur Municipal Corporation office, was attended by additional municipal commissioners, engineers from all zones, and health department officials.
TOI also noted that this was not the first time Pandey had expressed her dissatisfaction with officials. Previously, she had reprimanded Metro officials by turning off the air conditioning and fans in their offices, compelling them to work in discomfort in the halls.
