An Indigo passenger was arrested after he tried to open the emergency exit of a Guwahati-Agartala flight mid-air, an India Today report said.
The passenger, identified as 41-year-old Biswajit Debnath, was seated next to the emergency exit of the aircraft and tried to open the door when the passenger seated beside him tried to stop him from doing so.
The report said that the initial probe indicated that Debnath was under the influence of narcotic tablets and he was arrested when the flight landed in Agartala. The report further added that there were 180 passengers onboard the Indigo flight 6E-457.
In a video released on X (formerly Twitter), the passenger could be seen wearing a pink shirt and being dragged away by the flight crew. One of the passengers could be seen hitting the man before being stopped by the crew.
