So, when Raina shared an anecdote about how he was invited to Dhoni’s wedding, the video obviously went viral online with numerous heartwarming reactions.
The now-viral video was shared on Instagram by a page called OnSnapTalks. In the clip, the former international cricketer mentioned how “Captain Cool” invited him to his wedding. Dhoni told Raina to come “silently” without telling anyone about it. “Unhone phone kiya, bola, 'kahan ho?'. Maine bola, 'hum toh Lucknow mein hai'. Keh rahe hai, ‘meri shaadi hai Dehradun aaja. Silent aana, kisiko batana nahi. Main wait kar raha hu tera (He called me to ask about my whereabouts. I told him that I was in Lucknow. He asked me to come to his wedding without telling anyone),” Raina recalled.
Raina even said that he went in ‘normal’ clothes and ended up wearing Dhoni’s clothes at the wedding. “Toh main normal kapdon mein gaya tha, phir main unki hi shaadi mein, unhi ke kapdey pehne maine (So, I went in normal clothes and wore his clothes at the wedding).”
The video went viral with over two million views and hundreds of comments from their fans and followers.
“True friendship,” a user wrote. Another user commented, “Just Mahi bhai things.”
“Mahi-Raina bond is love,” a third user remarked. A fourth user added, “That’s brotherhood.”
MS Dhoni tied the knot with Sakshi Rawat on July 4, 2010. The couple got married in Dehradun.
