A Bengaluru-based entrepreneur has drawn widespread attention on social media after describing how he linked an artificial intelligence assistant to Swiggy to automate routine food and grocery orders, removing the need for repeated manual inputs.

The tool, known as Clawdbot, was connected to the food delivery platform and configured to recognise the user’s daily habits, including fixed-time orders and recurring grocery requirements. According to the entrepreneur, the system now places orders automatically, including the delivery of tea to his home every evening at 5 pm.

In a post shared on X, formerly Twitter, the entrepreneur said the integration addressed what he described as one of his most persistent day-to-day inconveniences. He explained that once the Swiggy integration was enabled, the AI assistant began managing food carts, suggesting meals based on preferences and placing grocery orders aligned with planned home cooking.

Screenshots shared alongside the post showed the assistant displaying a full breakdown of an order before execution. The interface listed individual items, quantities, pricing, delivery charges, applicable taxes and the final payable amount. The total value of the displayed order was Rs 160, with cash on delivery selected as the payment method. The assistant also indicated that cancellation would not be possible once the order was placed and sought explicit confirmation before proceeding.

After receiving approval through a short command, the assistant completed the transaction and displayed a confirmation message indicating that the order had been successfully placed.

Describing the process, the entrepreneur wrote: “Connected Swiggy to Clawdbot and automated my biggest headache. Now it knows my schedule, chai delivered to my door at 5pm, auto builds carts and orders groceries for meals I cook, dinner recommendations based on what I’m craving. Setup takes 1 minute. Just ask Clawdbot to set up the Swiggy skill I’ve published, everything else runs on autopilot.”

The post prompted mixed reactions from social media users. Some welcomed the development as a practical use of AI in everyday life. One user commented, "Oh this is super smart! This is what I want AI to do, solve my real day-to-day problems/do a part of my household chores. Another highlighted broader challenges in the AI ecosystem, referencing issues with cost efficiency, model limitations and tool integration across platforms.

Others were more sceptical. One comment suggested that such automation trends may lose relevance within a few years. Another user said that while automation was appealing, manual ordering allowed greater awareness of spending habits and personal choice. Some also noted difficulties in configuring the tool, stating that earlier attempts to set up Clawdbot had not worked as intended.

Clawdbot was created by Peter Steinberger, the founder of PSPDFKit. Unlike conventional chatbots, the assistant is designed to retain contextual information, learn user routines and act independently when specific conditions are met. It can issue reminders, send alerts and carry out tasks without continuous prompts.

The AI assistant is accessible through commonly used messaging platforms, including Telegram, iMessage, WhatsApp and Discord, allowing users to interact with it in a conversational format rather than through a dedicated application interface.
