Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor share a friendship that goes beyond reel. So, it is not a complete surprise that the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani actor unveiled Kapoor’s first look as the villain in Singham Again. Holding a bloodied scimitar in his hand, Kapoor can be seen smiling menacingly in the photo. In a second image, Kapoor faces cop Simmba played by Singh. The superstar captioned the image ‘My Baba baddest!’
Similar images were shared by Kapoor and the film’s director Rohit Shetty as well. While the actor wrote ‘Singham ka villain! Feeling on top of the world being a part of hit-machine Rohit Shetty sir’s cop universe! I promise you there will be mayhem’, the filmmaker posted ‘Insaan galati karta hai, aur usse uski saza bhi milti hai... Lekin ab jo aayega, wo shaitaan hai (When a human being makes mistakes, they get punished for them... But what's coming next isn't human, it's the devil himself!)! CAN I SAY - INTRODUCING ARJUN KAPOOR!’
Ajay Devgn, the star of the franchise, too, tweeted the photos with a short, toofani message: "Iss toofan ke liye tayaar ho jao / Welcome@arjunk26"
Singham Again is Shetty’s fifth film in the cop universe and a sequel to 2014’s Singham Returns. The official title of Singham Again was announced in December 2022 with the expected theatrical release date being sometime in August 2024. The film stars a gamut of A-listers such as Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Jackie Shroff with cameos by Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff.
As for Kapoor and Singh, they worked together in Gunday (2014), and hit it off as friends. Singh also did a cameo in Kapoor’s film Finding Fanny in the same year. The duo had also appeared in one episode of Koffee with Karan to promote their film Gunday, and have been quite vocal about their friendship and fondness for each other.
Incidentally, Gunday celebrates its tenth anniversary today. Earlier in the day, Kapoor had posted stories on his Instagram account and relived the journey with a few images. Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who was the female lead in the Ali Abbas Zafar movie, commented ‘So cute. What a fun time it was. Miss you boys’.
