Actor Randhir is not in favour of fiddling with classics, including his father and actor Raj Kapoor's 1951-hit 'Awara' as he feels it is difficult to remake such films.
"Lot of people suggest to me that ''Awara'' of Raj Kapoor be made again. I feel to make ''Awara'' would be difficult as where will we find great legends like Raj Kapoor, Prithviraj Kapoor, Nargisji, Shankar-Jaikishan (musician), Shailendra Hasrat (lyricist) and Khwaja Ahmad Abbas (writer).
"I don''t think such classics should be fiddled. I don''t want to make it (in) colour," Randhir told reporters here."Also, I do not feel any director or producer or actor can make a great film like ''Awara'' again. The film created history all over the world and even today it is respected greatly. The Toronto film festival still selects ''Awara'' as one of the foremost films," he said.International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) will showcase 15 iconic classics of Raj Kapoor including ''Aag'', ''Barsaat'', ''Awara'', ''Aah'', ''Boot Polish'', ''Shree 420'', ''Jagte Raho'', ''Jis Des Mein Ganga Behti Hai'', ''Sangam'', ''Mera Naam Joker'', ''Kal Aaj Aur Kal'', ''Bobby'', ''Satyam Shivam Sundaram'' among others. The IIFA and Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) have announced their collaboration to host a tribute to the legend of Indian cinema on June 26 in Toronto. The tribute will be followed by a retrospective film series called ''Raj Kapoor and the Golden Age of Indian Cinema'', which will run for six weeks.
