Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has offered a peek into what he calls his ‘home away from home’ in Qatar, a sea-facing apartment located at The Residences at The St. Regis Marsa Arabia, The Pearl Island. The property, described as a modern two-bedroom home with hotel-like facilities, has been positioned by the actor as a quiet retreat that is both luxurious and genuinely restful.
According to the details shared in the feature, Saif purchased the Qatar home about a year ago and recently spoke about what keeps pulling him back to it. The big selling point, as he frames it, is the feeling of comfort that kicks in the moment he returns.
“I am relaxed already,” he said, while describing the familiarity of being in the space. He also underlined the privacy factor, calling it “peaceful, luxurious, and very private,” a line that neatly captures the vibe he seems to be chasing with this second home.
The apartment sits at The Pearl Island, a premium waterfront development that’s built around the idea of resort-style living. The report notes that homes in the property can vary widely in price, with flats said to cost anywhere between Rs 7 crore and Rs 50 crore, depending on size and specifications. Saif’s home is presented as a two-bedroom apartment, with an added emphasis on comfort-driven planning rather than flashy excess. It reportedly includes a dedicated maid’s room, along with a layout that blends open living space with private corners to unwind.
Inside, the apartment is described as having a spacious living room with a thoughtfully planned design focused on comfort and style. The home includes a master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, a second large bedroom, and the separate maid’s room which comes with an attached toilet. There is also an additional bathroom for guests, making the space functional for both family stays and hosting. In other words, it is not just a holiday crash pad, but a fully set-up residence built for longer, quieter stretches of living.
One of the more human details in the story is Saif’s clear favourite spot: the balcony. During the interaction, he reportedly gave a tour of the apartment and pointed to the balcony as the place he likes most. The reason is simple and very on-brand for a sea-facing home: the view. The space offers what the report calls a “breathtaking” sea view, the kind that does half the job of calming you down before you’ve even had your coffee.
Saif has also connected his decision to a broader checklist he believes matters when choosing a second home. Speaking earlier at the property’s official launch event in 2025, he explained that the decision is not just about luxury, but about ease and safety too. “It should not be very far away and should be easily accessible,” he said, while outlining what he looks for in a holiday home. He also stressed that safety is non-negotiable, and that a second home should simply “feel good to be there,” suggesting he prioritises peace of mind over mere prestige.
He also recalled his first experience at the property, saying he had initially visited for a shoot and ended up staying there. That first stay appears to have done the convincing. He described the experience as a “perfect mix of privacy and luxury,” adding that it “felt like a home away from home,” which made the choice easier.
