  • Emails reference Epstein inviting Musk to his private island in 2012 and 2013
  • No evidence Musk visited; he has publicly denied ever going to Epstein's island

Freshly released US Justice Department document shows that Tesla CEO Elon Musk had a longer trail of email communication with Jeffrey Epstein, including a reference to a visit to Epstein’s private island. The emails exchanged in 2012 and 2013 show Epstein inviting Musk to his island in the US Virgin Islands, including scheduling dates, logistics and social plans. However, it remains unclear if Musk ever visited.

In an email dated Christmas, 2012, Epstein invited Musk to visit his island. Still, Musk turned down the offer, writing: “The invitation is much appreciated, but a peaceful island experience is the opposite of what I’m looking for,” adding that work had pushed him to the edge of sanity and enquired about panned parties.

In response, Epstein said he understood Musk’s hesitation and made a cryptic remark that the ratio on his island might leave Musk’s female companion uncomfortable.

Weeks later, Epstein followed up in a separate email asking Musk for travel arrangements. “How many people will you be for the heli to island?”

In a response the next day, Musk wrote, “Probably just Talulah and me. What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?”

The file also included a 2013 email exchange suggesting Musk may have considered visiting during the Caribbean trip. “Will be in the BVI/St Bart’s area over the holidays. Is there a good time to visit?” Musk wrote in a December 13, 2013, email.

Epstein responded two days later: “Any day 1st–8th. Play it by ear if you want. Always space for you.”

Following additional discussion on scheduling, Musk wrote on December 25, 2013: “Actually, I could fly back early on the 3rd. We will be in St Bart’s. When should we head to your island on the 2nd?”

However, the records do not confirm that they ever travelled to the island. Musk has previously denied visiting and wrote on X last year: “Epstein tried to get me to go to his island and I REFUSED.”

The Justice Department released over three million pages of documents under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, passed by Congress to shed light on Epstein’s contacts with powerful figures.

As soon as news of Musk’s emails with Epstein was released, social media was flooded with reactions.

One user wrote, “It's important to understand the context. It's common for billionaires to be in the British Virgin Islands on vacation. It's not a crime to ask to meet a high profile financier. Musk has previously said he declined the invitation and never went there. These files contain millions of emails; having your name in someone's inbox doesn't make you complicit in their crime. This is just another attempt to harass Musk for challenging the establishment.”

Another X user commented, “People emailing Epstein back then sadly isn’t shocking, but context matters. Let’s see the full thread before jumping to conclusions or excuses.”

A third user said, “To be fair, Musk never said he didn't interact w/Epstein. He attended several 'lunches' organised by Epstein, and he and Talulah Riley visited Epstein's NYC penthouse once, as stated by Talulah in a post that is still up, here on X.”
