Indian cricketer Deepak Chahar on Saturday took to X to narrate his poor experience with Zomato. The 31-year-old, who had ordered from an eatery in Sikandra, Agra, claimed that he didn’t receive the order and was also accused by the company of lying.
Chahar highlighted the “fraud” by Zomato and shared his ordeal in a post that swiftly gained traction online. “New fraud in India. Ordered food from @zomato and app shows delivered but didn’t receive anything. After calling the customer service they also said that it’s been delivered and I’m lying. I’m sure lot of people must be facing same issues. Tag @zomato and tell your story,” he wrote.
The cricketer also attached a screenshot of his order placed from Mama Chicken Mama Franky House in Agra.

The post went viral with over one lakh views and social media users resonated with Chahar in the comments section.
“What's this behaviour Zomato? That's cheating your customer,” a user wrote. Another user commented, “This @swiggy and @zomato turning out to be a scam service without any customer support nowadays.”
“That’s why I don’t use Zomato. I use Swiggy instead. They deliver everything before or on time and they don’t delay anything,” a third user remarked.
A fourth user added, “The same happened to me as well. One night I ordered food worth around Rs 1800, it was never delivered but it was shown as delivered. Tried reaching out customer service but they were saying the same thing ‘I'm lying’”.
The post even caught Zomato's attention and the company apologised for the inconvenience. Replying to Chahar's post, Zomato wrote, "Hi Deepak, We're deeply concerned about your experience and apologize for any inconvenience. Rest assured, we take such issues seriously and are urgently looking into the matter to ensure a swift resolution."

To which the cricketer replied, "Just wanted to highlight this as lot of people face this issue and no proper action is taken. Giving back the money of the order will not solve the issue. Hunger cannot be compensate with money."
