A Delhi court is likely to decide whether Home Minister P Chidambaram can be made accused in the 2G case or not. The matter will be heard by Justice OP Saini.

This is the result of a petition filed by Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy.

Here's a timeline of how the events unfolded after Swamy moved Supreme Court in August, 2011.

In 2011:

On August 23, Subramanian Swamy moved Supreme Court for making Chidambaram accused in the 2G spectrum scam.

On September 15, Swamy moved special CBI court to make Chidambaram a co-accused.

On September 22, the CBI defended Chidambaram in Supreme Court and blamed the Department of Telecom.

On October 10, the Supreme Court reserved its order on Swamy's plea for a probe into Chidambaram's alleged role.

On November 15, the UPA government moved Supreme Court accusing Swamy of committing gross impropriety by levelling charges against Chidambaram even when the apex court had reserved its verdict in the 2G scam case.

On December 8, Swamy allowed to testify in support of his private complaint seeking prosecution of Chidambaram in the 2G case by the special CBI court.

In 2012:

On January 7, Swamy submitted certified copies of documents and concluded his arguments against Chidambaram. The court listed Swamy's application for arguments on January 21.

On January 21, a Delhi court reserved its order for February 4.

On February 2, the Supreme Court referred the matter of whether Chidambaram's role should be probed back to the special court court.
