A Chinese girl, who was suffering from a congenital heart disorder, died after her teacher forced her to do a running exercise despite her medical history, a South China Morning Post report said.
The incident took place on April 12 at Baicheng Medical College in northeastern Jilin province of the country, where the first-year student, surnamed Zhao, was made to run with her classmates and collapsed during the exercise.
The girl was rushed to a hospital where she was declared dead, two days later. Her aunt submitted medical evidence, which confirmed that the girl was suffering from a congenital heart disorder and had been granted exclusion from participating in sporting activities. The aunt felt that the teacher forced the girl to run because he was targeting her.
"The teacher was angry and made everything difficult for our kid. He said her heart disease document was fake. So she must run every day," the aunt said.
One of the girl's classmate said that when she collapsed on the ground, the teacher did not call the emergency services and told the other students to not go near the girl. "If we had made the effort to rescue her in time, I think it would have been effective. But the tutor wouldn’t let us get near her," the classmate said.
An official part of the school administration said that the girl had died of heart disorder, but could not clarify the teacher's role in her death.
