A video of a motorist, who was driving in the wrong lane, being disciplined by an armed forces officer in Bengaluru has delighted social media users. This comes at a time when the city has not only been grappling with bad roads and traffic congestion, but also traffic violators and road rage.
The incident caught on a car's dashcam and shared by X user Madhur (@ThePlacardGuy) has been described by many as "satisfying".
In the clip, a moving car is shown to halt suddenly due to a scooter coming from the wrong side, straight at the car. The lane had one-way traffic flow and the motorist was driving in the wrong direction. An altercation takes place as the scooter rider insists that the driver give him way and move to the side when an armed forces truck on the opposite lane stops nearby and an officer intervenes. He smacks the motorist on the head for breaking traffic rules and appears to tell him off.
When the violator did not immediately move back, the officer proceeded to get what looked like a stick or a baton from the truck to discipline him. The ruckus caught the nearby traffic police's attention. The motorist was soon seen trying to move his scooter to the right lane.

Reacting to the video, X user Ankur Bagchi (@JustAnkurBagchi) said, "I will pay more taxes for army trucks to patrol Bangalore roads daily." "People coming from the wrong side should be slapped and spanked before they’re fined and their vehicle is impounded," added RB (@DeLoneWulf).
YouTuber and vigilante ThirdEye (@3rdEyeDude) thanked people for using dashcams so that these kinds of traffic violations are captured on camera. "People should become ashamed to do this. Hopefully, we get to see more such videos standing up against indisciplined driving," they commented.
