As regional tensions disrupted air travel and raised concerns among families in India, a prominent UAE political analyst publicly sought to reassure the Indian community about safety and stability in the Emirates.

Ahmed Sharif used a widely circulated post on X to underscore that life in the Emirates continues without disruption despite the ongoing Iran–US–Israel conflict and resulting airspace issues. He noted that “four million Indians wake up every day in the UAE and go to work, open their shops, teach in classrooms, build companies, treat patients, and raise families,” stressing that schools, offices and flights continue to operate and that the country remains steady.

"The UAE was built on order, discipline, and foresight. Security here is structured, layered, and constant. Every resident matters. Every community is part of the national fabric," Sharif said.

Sharif framed his reassurance within the context of decades of shared effort and success between India and the UAE. "India and the UAE are connected through decades of shared effort and shared success. That connection is visible in every neighbourhood and every industry," he added. "To the families watching from India: your loved ones are in a country that plans carefully, acts decisively, and protects responsibly."

Travellers stranded as airspace disruptions continue

The reassurance comes as thousands of travellers, including many Indians, remain stranded due to regional airspace closures linked to escalating geopolitical tensions. The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has implemented support measures such as accommodation, meals and rebooking assistance for affected passengers. Indians stranded at Abu Dhabi Airport recounted receiving hotel vouchers, meals and transport, describing staff as highly supportive.

Multiple reports detail how Indian travellers experienced explosions following Iran’s strikes near US facilities in Abu Dhabi, heightening anxiety among those in India tracking the safety of relatives abroad. Despite official support and Sharif’s statement, many stranded travellers told regional media that families back home remain deeply worried.
