Intel may have inadvertently leaked the release date for Microsoft's next big iteration of its PC operating system, Windows 12. According to tech publication Seeking Alpha, a transcript of the fireside chat with Intel's CFO David Zinsner teased the release date.
"We actually think '24 is going to be a pretty good year for client, in particular, because of the Windows refresh," the transcript quoted Zinsner as saying.
It is the word "refresh" that has caught the attention. It suggests the giant has something bigger planned than a simple update. It could mean a potential release date for Windows 12.

"And we still think that the installed base is pretty old and does require a refresh and we think next year maybe the start of that, given the Windows catalyst. So, we're optimistic about how things will play out beginning in '24," Zinsner added.
Intel's next generation core processors for laptops codename "Meteor Lake" are slated to release in December and given its proximity to Microsoft, they know the date the Redmond-based technology giant has planned for an OS refresh.
