Windows 11 has been criticised over its performance issues and some users have also reported that it usually feels laggy after using it for a certain period. However, in an interesting development, Andy Young, who worked at Microsoft for over 13 years, expressed his frustrations about the performance issues of Windows 11 on X (formerly known as Twitter).

He posted a video in the post and pointed out the sluggish performance of the Windows 11 Start menu and its subsequent search menu. This surprised many users because Young mentioned his system’s specifications, which consisted of a $1600 Core i9 CPU and 128GB RAM. For any Windows PC, those are high-end specs.

Young’s post on X went viral, and multiple users highlighted that they are also facing the same issue with the Windows 11 Start menu. Having been part of the team that built Windows 11, Young’s disappointment was more notable.

He also mentioned in another post on X, that Microsoft needs to listen to its audience who are frustrated by the constant performance issues of Windows 11: “To be clear, I love Windows. I helped build parts of it. I want it to be as good as it once was. If data suggests the software you build frustrates a significant percentage of users, it means there’s work left to be done.”

Microsoft has not commented on these posts till now, but Young has confirmed that he has been contacted by Jen Gentleman, who is part of the engineering team in Windows and particularly handles the Windows Start-menu features.
