KTM 690 Duke limited edition launched

KTM 690 Duke limited edition launched

March 27, 2012 / 16:45 IST

KTM internationally has launched a limited edition of its 690 Duke. This Duke will be a track-only version and uses the same architecture as the bikes racing in the KTM powered European Junior Cup (EJC). This championship has riders from around 13 nations battling it out for the top spot across eight rounds.

The 690 Duke Track limited edition is fitted with bespoke items like the lightweight Marchesini wheels, APTC slipper clutch and KTM PowerParts, thus allowing it to gain 9PS over the road-going version for a total of 79PS. The power increase is also attributed to a PowerParts camshaft with an ECU remap, Akrapovic titanium exhaust and airbox modifications. In this process it also shaves 10kg off the 150kg dry weight of the standard 690 Duke. The sub-frame and the chassis remain standard while the ABS has been chucked in favour of a new four-pad radial Brembo calliper and master cylinder. The new WP front forks raise the Duke by 15mm and offer full adjustment while the rear gets a fully adjustable WP setup. KTM claims a fuel efficiency of 14.5kmpl. The KTM 690 Duke Track is priced a shade under Rs 7 lakh before duties and taxes.
