Mystery metal BlackBerry caught on video

BlackBerry is on a roll launching various handsets that are targeted at all audiences.

BlackBerry is on a roll launching handsets targeted at all audiences. The Canada-based smartphone manufacturer recently unveiled their latest version of the App World 2.0 and close on its heels, a video featuring a mysterious handset has surfaced. According to a report by Engadget, this device is said to be from the Bold Touch line of BlackBerry handsets.

The rumoured name of this device is said to be the BlackBerry 9980 and the highlighted feature of this handset is its design. The uniqueness lies in the keyboard that looks metallic and the rear features a leather-like finish. As for the operating software this handset runs on, it is the BlackBerry OS 7.0. The report states that this handset is a limited edition handset and the will be rolled out in the market in a limited quantity. The report goes on to state that as for hardware specifications, the 9980 features the same layout, and battery as the 9900. No other word is available on pricing or availability of this handset. As of now, we have to just wait and see if or when RIM announces the BlackBerry 9980.
