India has started bilateral aviation trade talks with delegates from 35 countries on issues ranging from expanding fifth freedom rights to increasing flight frequencies, with Africa taking a centrestage in the proceedings.
Various ministries and government agencies owe close to Rs 150 crore to cash-strapped airline Air India, the government said today.
There may be some breakthrough after eight days of the Air India strike. Civil Aviation Minister Vyalar Ravi today said that Air India management may look at reinstating pilots, reports CNBC-TV18’s Mehak Kasbekar.
Delhi High Court has ordered that the strike should be withdrawn immediately. It has also issued contempt of court order against three ICPA pilots. Moreover, the government has asked pilots to resume work.
The Air Indian management has declared the strike by 660 ICPA illegal and sealed their offices.
In what may come as a major boost for airlines, the Supreme Court today quashed the levy of airport development fee by private developers.
