The Khadi production, which was Rs 879.98 crore in 2014-15, went up to Rs 1,902 crore in 2018-19, a growth of more than 100 per cent, and its sales recorded a growth of over 145 per cent, from Rs 1,310.9 crore in 2014-15 to Rs 3,215.13 crore in 2018-19, according to a statement issued by the KVIC.

Khadi was also taken up as the preferred uniform fabric across several establishments - both government and private.
The five-bogie Khadi Express train would also have the facility to sell the Khadi products to people and will run through all those places in the country where Mahatama Gandhi had stayed. The train will be stationed at those stations for one day.

"The Make in India push by our Prime Minister has also given Khadi the right kind of attention," he said.
As per KVIC's audit report, the Khadi fabric production during the same fiscal was 103.22 million square meters – which was a bit higher than 4 percent of the overall production, KVIC said.
The outlet has registered a record sales of Rs 1,25,25,671 sale on Saturday, which the KVIC claimed is the highest ever sale so far in its history.
Brand Khadi is also looking at touching a sales target of Rs 5000 crore by the end of 2018-19
So far, KVIC has provided Khadi Mark Certificate to 2,238 entities and issued legal notices to 222 organizations in the last three years
Khadi and Village Industries Commission under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises had sent a legal notice to Fabindia in February, asking it to refrain from using the Khadi tag for their apparel line which did not meet the required criteria to be categorised as khadi.
The products will be given away as gifts to dignitaries in the two countries. This would help Khadi increase their global reach
