Google

Counted among the Big Five in the American technology industry, Google specialises in Internet-related services and products, which includes online advertising technologies, a search engine, cloud computing, software and hardware. Most famous for its search engine, Google uses a proprietary algorithm that's designed to retrieve and order search results to provide the most relevant and dependable sources of data possible. It is the top search engine in the world. Several other Google-owned websites also are on the list of most popular websites, including YouTube and Blogger. It was founded by Ph.D students- Larry Page and Sergey Brin- at Stanford University of California. Together they owned about 14% of its publicly listed shares and controlled 56% of the stockholder voting power through super-voting stock. In 2004 then, Google went public and in 2015 the company was recognized as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alphabet Inc.Google is Alphabet's largest subsidiary and is a holding company for Alphabet's Internet properties and interests. Sundar Pichai was appointed CEO of Google on October 24, 2015, replacing Larry Page, who became the CEO of Alphabet. On December 3, 2019, Pichai also became the CEO of Alphabet.
