Maruti Suzuki India on Friday reported its highest-ever monthly wholesales at 1,89,082 units in August.
Considering the safety of customers and out of abundant precaution, the company has decided to recall the suspected vehicles for inspection and replacement of the faulty part, free of cost.
The manual trims are priced between Rs 4.99 lakh and Rs 6.44 lakh while the AGS (auto gear shift) variants are tagged between Rs 6.13 lakh and Rs 6.94 lakh.
The all-new Celerio can be booked with an initial amount of Rs 11,000, the auto major said in a statement.
MSI has shut production from May 1 till May 16 in order to divert oxygen from industrial use for medical purposes.
The launch is aligned with the company's vision of providing a range of green and sustainable offerings to its customers, MSI said in a statement.
Celerio was "the first car to democratise the two-pedal (auto gear shift) technology and the recent upgrade in its safety features has significantly enhanced its appeal as the perfect city car", MSI Senior Executive Director - Marketing and Sales R S Kalsi said.
Maruti Suzuki disappointed analysts with its October sales as it sold 1.33 lakh units during the month, down 0.3 percent compared with 1.34 lakh units sold in year-ago period. It was worst on month-on-month basis as sales fell 10.3 percent.

Speaking to CNBC-TV18, RS Kalsi, ED - Marketing & Sales of Maruti Suzuki says that demand for both Brezza and Baleno has been more than the company‘s estimates.
"The growth in quarterly sales is despite the disruption in production during June 2016, due to the unfortunate incident of fire at Subros, a key vendor of the company," says Maruti in its filing.

Company's domestic sales increased by 24.7 percent to 1.21 lakh vehicles and exports shot up 90.4 percent to 13,146 vehicles.
With festive season round the corner, major car manufacturers including Maruti Suzuki India, Hyundai Motor and Tata Motors are offering various schemes, including discounts of up to Rs 37,000 to push up sales.
The company had introduced the auto gear shift (AGS) technology in the country through its small car Celerio, which was launched in February 2014.

According to SIAM, Maruti's Alto sold 2,64,492 units in 2014-15 as against 2,58,281 units in the previous fiscal, retaining its numero uno position for the 10th year in succession.
