Kanta Prasad, 80, along with his wife received an array of funds in October last year after vlogger Gaurav Wasan shared a video of their roadside eatery Baba Ka Dhaba.
After his restaurant for which he had invested Rs 5 lakhs and even hired three staff members, was unsuccessful and shut down in February, Prasad and his wife are now back at their roadside old dhaba.
After blogger Gaurav Wasan had posted the video of a teary eyed Kanta Prasad recounting the hardships endured by him and his aged wife during the lockdown, it had gone viral across all social media platforms and people came in large numbers to help the old man out.
The octogenarian, who runs ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’, a small eatery in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar, had filed a police complaint against social media influencer Gaurav Wasan on November 1, accusing him of misappropriating his funds.
The owner of the food joint also accused Gaurav Wasan of not providing details of the financial transactions to him.
