Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment have lodged a complaint against director Ali Abbas Zafar, accusing him of misappropriating subsidy funds received from the Abu Dhabi authorities during the filming of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
This year’s big Eid release, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, which had an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is inching close to the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide at the box office.
The movie had a big clash with Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Maidaan’ which managed to earn Rs 7.10 crore on the domestic box office. Ali Abbas Zafar's ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ was scheduled to release on April 10 but the makers pushed its release to coincide with Eid, on April 11.
Previously, Tiger’s films such as the ‘Baaghi’ franchise, ‘Heropanti’ and ‘War’ had worked well at the box office; and now, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ is set to become yet another box office success in the actor’s filmography, establishing him as the box office prince.
While some audiences felt the movie didn't bring anything new to the table, with forgettable songs, a predictable plot, and lack of emotional depth, the film's action sequences, the lead duo's bromance and Prithviraj Sukumaran as a standout villain have been praised by all.
Tamil actress Priyamani, who plays Ajay Devgn's wife in 'Maidaan', and Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, who plays the antagonist in 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan', have worked in six films together, and she says 'almost all of them were hits'.
Bade Miyan Akshay Kumar pocketed a whopping Rs 80 crore approx. for his role while Chote Miyan Tiger Shroff bagged between Rs 40 and Rs 45 crore for his role.
Ajay Devgn's 'Maidaan', directed by Amit Sharma, has managed to sell 16,178 tickets in the domestic market while Ali Abbas Zafar's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan clocked 50,000 in pre-release ticket sale. Going by these figures, both the movies haven't set huge records seeing as it is a big festival break this Eid.
There were reports that Akshay Kumar, who will be seen in the forthcoming Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, was engaged to actress Raveena Tandon in late '90s but the two parted ways on a sour note.
The actress rings up the director every time he doesn't cast her in a film, revealed Ali Abbas Zafar.
The actor talks about his latest role, as a drug lord in Ali Abbas Zafar’s 'Bloody Daddy' which will release on JioCinema on June 9, and his evolution as a performer over three decades.
