Karnataka govt spent Rs 56 crore of taxpayer money on Siddaramaiah’s publicity ahead of polls

A reply to a Right to Information application has revealed the details of how money has been shelled out on hoardings by the Department of Information just ahead of the assembly polls.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is yet to embark on a full-fledged Karnataka campaign, but in anticipation of a high voltage blitzkrieg from the BJP closer to the polls, the state information and publicity department has spent around Rs 56 crores over the last three months to highlight achievements of the Congress-led Siddaramaiah government.
