Open Instagram and go straight to your profile. Tap the three lines in the top right corner and choose Settings and privacy. This is where Instagram keeps all your privacy tools. You don’t need to block or unfollow anyone. The option to hide stories sits neatly inside your privacy menu. Scroll down to Privacy and tap on Story. This section controls who can view, reply to or share your stories. Instagram keeps it separate from feed posts, so anything you adjust here affects only your stories. You can change it anytime without notifying or alerting the person you hide stories from. At the top, you will see the Hide story from option. Tap it and you’ll get a full list of your followers. Use the search bar if you want to find someone quickly. This makes it super easy to hide your story from one person or several without touching your follow list. Select the people you want to hide your stories from by tapping their names. Instagram will mark them with a tick, confirming they won’t see what you post next. You can choose just one person or as many as you like. Nothing changes for them. They won’t know what you did. Once you’re done selecting, go back and start posting stories normally. Instagram will automatically block the chosen followers from seeing them. You can also revisit the same section anytime to remove or add people. It is the easiest way to keep certain moments private without awkwardly removing followers.
