New laws - Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Act - to revamp criminal justice system to take effect on July 1.

The country's criminal justice system will undergo a thorough revamp with the implementation of three recently passed laws, which are the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Act, effective July 1.

On December 21, the Parliament approved the three laws, and on December 25, President Droupadi Murmu granted her consent.

The Union Home Ministry sent three similar notifications stating that the new laws' provisions will take effect on July 1.

The Indian Evidence Act of 1872, the Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Indian Penal Code from the colonial era will all be replaced by these statutes.
The three laws provide definitions for numerous acts and their associated penalties with the ultimate goal of revamping the nation's criminal justice system.
