In a new twist in the Epstein Files case, it has come to light that Jeffrey Epstein may have had a child before passing away.
Epstein allegedly fathered a secret child around 15 years ago, according to an email attributed to Sarah Ferguson, the former wife of Britain’s Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, a report by The Telegraph said.
The claim has emerged after the release of a new tranche of Epstein-related documents, including an email Ferguson is said to have sent to Epstein on September 21, 2011. At that time, Epstein had already been convicted of engaging in sexual activity with an underage girl.
In the email, Ferguson attributed the information to “The Duke,” widely understood to be Prince Andrew. The allegation has not been independently verified, but its disclosure has added to renewed scrutiny of Epstein’s private life and personal network.
“Don't know if you're still on this bbm but have heard from The Duke that you have had a baby boy. Even though you never kept in touch, I still am here with love, friendship, and congratulations [sic] on your baby boy. Sarah xx,” Ferguson wrote.
If the claim is accurate, the child would now be around 14 or 15 years old. Other messages included in the document tranche suggest Ferguson had previously been unaware of Epstein becoming a father, with references indicating that he had “disappeared” before the news surfaced.
More than 100 individuals have previously claimed to be Epstein’s offspring in attempts to seek a share of his estate, though it has never been officially established whether he had any children. In 2020, Harvey Morse, founder of Morse Genealogical Services, said Epstein may have had descendants due to his sexual history.
“There is a reasonable chance he may have fathered a child,” he said, adding: “He could even be a grandfather.”
Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York, is named in the newly released Epstein files, which comprise about three million documents, 180,000 images and 2,000 videos. According to the documents, Ferguson offered Epstein and his associates VIP tours of Buckingham Palace and remained in contact with him after his 2009 release from prison for child sex offences.
Emails show Ferguson contacted Epstein in 2009 and 2010, with one message suggesting she would “organise anything” for him. Prince Andrew, Duke of York, is also referenced in the files, with emails indicating that he invited Epstein to Buckingham Palace in 2010, shortly after Epstein was released from house arrest.
The documents further suggest that Prince Andrew’s relationship with Epstein continued until at least 2017, contradicting his earlier claim that he had severed ties in 2010. Ferguson has previously apologised for her association with Epstein, saying she was “duped” into believing false accounts about him.
