A fight which broke out between two groups of men inside a movie theatre at Gulshan Mall in Noida’s Sector 135, prompting police action after a short video of the incident went viral on social media.
The 26-second clip, widely circulated online, shows a group of men confronting another man seated inside the theatre, slapping him and dragging him out of his chair. Abuses can be heard in the background, while other moviegoers appear visibly frightened by the sudden violence.
According to police officials, the incident occurred on the night of December 11–12 within the jurisdiction of the Expressway police station. The dispute reportedly erupted while the groups were watching a movie.
Police identified the first group as Abhinav, son of Ajit Chaudhary, a resident of Nand Gram in Ghaziabad, and Rohit, son of Surendra Dham, a resident of Ramghat Road in Aligarh. The second group included Harshvardhan Singh, son of Shiv Kumar, a resident of Sector-137, Noida; Ashish, son of Satyanarayan, from Charkhi Dadri in Haryana; and Vikrant Chaudhary, son of Ravindra Kumar, a resident of Ghaziabad.
In the video, the altercation escalates quickly as the youths are taken outside the theatre and assaulted further. The footage was recorded by another person inside the theatre and uploaded on social media, where users tagged senior police officials, leading to swift intervention.
A police team later visited the mall to inquire into the incident and sought details from the mall management. Police said preventive action has been taken against all five individuals involved in connection with the case.
