The Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana Police on Tuesday arrested Three inmates, including two Pakistani nationals, who escaped from a Juvenile Observation Home in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday after allegedly assaulting police personnel on duty.
SP STF Vikrant Bhushan, speaking to news agency ANI said that three inmates, two Pakistanis and one Indian, had escaped from the RS Pura Juvenile Home in Jammu and Kashmir. The two Pakistanis were arrested by the Ambala STF from the station premises and handed over to the Jammu Police. One of them was identified as Mohammad Sanula, 20, from Pakistan, and the other as Ahsan Anwar, 21, from Pakistan.
One of them had been in the Juvenile Jail RS Pura since 2019 and the other since 2021. Both have been handed over to the Jammu and Kashmir Police. Their third accomplice, Karamjeet alias Guga, an Indian, also escaped from jail with them. He was their mastermind, who was supposed to send them out of the country to Nepal via the Uttar Pradesh border. Now, the Jammu and Kashmir police will take them on remand and conduct the remaining investigation.
Two police personnel, SPO Vinay Kumar and Head Constable Parveen Kumar, sustained injuries in the incident and were shifted to nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Intelligence sources said the two Pakistani boys had inadvertently crossed over into India and were not linked to militancy. Police had launched a manhunt to trace the juveniles. Cognisance of the incident has been taken and further investigation is underway.
