The Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) questioning of former RG Kar principal Sandip Ghosh has not yielded significant results. Ghosh has undergone 15 days of intensive interrogation, including lie-detection and voice analysis tests, in connection with the alleged rape-murder of a trainee doctor at the hospital in Kolkata.
However, according to News18, citing its sources, Ghosh is attempting to shift the blame regarding why hospital authorities misled the victim's parents on the night of the incident and allowed the crime scene to remain unattended for at least 40 minutes.
Despite two weeks of analysing Ghosh's answers, CBI is yet to know why, as the principal at the time, he was not immediately informed about the doctor's death and why there was a 30-minute delay in notifying him after the body was found.
Sandip Ghosh's version of timeline of events, as reported by News18 citing its sources, on August 9 that he gave to the CBI:
9.30 am. The body was discovered at RG Kar Hospital.
10.00 am. Ghosh received a phone call from Dr. Sumit Roy Tapadar, an associate professor in the Department of Respiratory Medicine. Ghosh claims he missed this call because he was in the washroom.
10.10 am: The police were notified about the discovery, approximately 40 minutes after the body was found.
10.20 am: Ghosh returned Dr. Tapadar's call and was informed about the death for the first time.
Ghosh left for RG Kar Hospital immediately. While on his way, he contacted the in-charge of Tala Police Station, who said officers were already at the scene.
En route to the hospital, Ghosh also called the medical superintendent, the head of the Department of Chest Medicine, and the chairman of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti to inform them about the situation.
11.00 am: Ghosh arrived at RG Kar Hospital.
