Rajya Sabha nominated MP Sudha Murty, who is also the founder-chairperson of Infosys Foundation, on Friday cautioned people against being misled by a viral deepfake video involving her.
The synthetic video features Murty promoting a high-return investment opportunity, urging viewers to click on a registration link, which reportedly leads to a fake website designed to steal personal information.
“A number of investors have already joined and are earning from 10 lakh rupees per month. Unfortunately, we are now forced to stop the registration as our team is no longer able to handle the influx of new clients," the fake video shows her saying.
“All those who wish to join will have a chance to register only until the end of this day and only through the link that I will request to be placed below this video. If the link is still active and you are able to access it, congratulations, you still have the opportunity to become an investor,” she says.

Responding to the viral video, Murty categorically denied any association with it. “Please don’t fall for it. I never ask for money or ask people to invest," she was quoted as saying by CNN-News18.
Reiterating her long-held public position, Murty said the only money she has ever given was “Rs 10,000 to Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy,” stressing that she neither seeks donations nor endorses any form of investment opportunity.
Separately, she told PTI, “I am really concerned about fake messages using my face and my voice to promote investments promising 20 or 30 times returns. This is all fake and driven by AI and a cunning mind behind it. I will never talk about investments anywhere, anytime. If you see my face or hear my voice promoting investments, do not believe it. This is hard-earned money - please think carefully, verify with a bank or trusted source, and only then decide.”
