With only five days to go before the consecration (pran pratishtha) ceremony at the historic Ram temple in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 17 said that the nation will feel the absence of the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar.
"As the nation awaits 22nd January with great enthusiasm, one of the people who will be missed is our beloved Lata Didi," PM Modi said in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He also shared the shloka, 'Shree Ramarpan, Mata Ramo Matpita Ramchandrah', which was sung by Lata Mangeshkar, mentioning that this recording was her final contribution.

The renaming of a central roundabout in Ayodhya as Lata Mangeshkar Chowk serves as a sincere tribute to the legendary singer. This roundabout, now dedicated to Lata Mangeshkar, holds significance in the temple town as it marks the intersection of Ram Path and Dharm Path. Additionally, the decorative lamp posts enhances the festive atmosphere, coinciding with preparations for the upcoming consecration ceremony of the Ram temple.

Born on September 28, 1929, Lata Mangeshkar had an illustrious career in the field of music. She received numerous coveted titles, including the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award. In 2001, she was honoured with the esteemed Bharat Ratna, a testament to her unparalleled contributions to the realm of music.
Lata Mangeshkar, the revered Nightingale of India, passed away at the age of 92 on February 6, 2022, succumbing to multi-organ failure.
The 'pran pratishtha' ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya is scheduled for January 22. The event will witness the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and the president of the temple trust, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das.

PM Modi on January 17 visited the renowned Lord Krishna temple in Guruvayur, Kerala, and participated in prayers. For the occasion, the PM donned traditional attire, including 'mundu' and 'veshti' (white shawl).
